The dainty earrings are inspired by the shape of a single carved marker, drawn from the runestones raised across Scandinavia's coastlines and river routes, many placed by families to remember sailors and traders who set out across the Baltic and never returned, their names and journeys carved into stone so that even an absence had a fixed place on the shore. Smoky Quartz and Garnet hold the weathered grey brown of stone left standing through centuries of sea wind, Peridot and Moss Agate carry the moss that gathers slowly over such markers near water, Rainbow Moonstone and Crystal catch the pale glint of frost or sea spray settling on carved rock, and Amethyst and Strawberry Quartz hold the deeper stain time leaves on stone that has stood facing the water the longest. Rune Traces aims to carry that same instinct to mark a journey in something lasting, a single stone standing in for a voyage, a name, a story once carved facing the sea.
